Licensing
How Plainsight Systems licenses what it publishes: Apache 2.0 for code, CC BY 4.0 for writing, brand assets reserved.
Everything Plainsight Systems publishes falls into one of three categories, each with one license.
Code: Apache 2.0
Code released by Plainsight Systems, including the builds, tools and this website, is published under the Apache License 2.0. The public repositories are at github.com/plainsight-systems.
Irrevocability. Once a release has been published under Apache 2.0, Plainsight Systems does not relicense, re-close, or withdraw it. Your right to fork, modify, and redistribute it persists regardless of later company decisions, acquisitions, or dissolution.
Writing: CC BY 4.0
Research papers and their PDFs, corpora and specifications, documentation, and the prose on this site are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. You are free to use, adapt, and redistribute them with attribution, for any purpose, including commercial.
Research papers are copyright their authors and published by Plainsight Systems; each paper names its copyright holder and license on its page and in its PDF.
Brand assets: all rights reserved
The name “Plainsight Systems”, the Plainsight Systems wordmark, and any associated logomarks and visual identity elements are trademarks or service marks of Plainsight Systems LLC. They are excluded from the Apache 2.0 and CC BY 4.0 terms above. Using them in derivative works, forks, or redistributions requires written permission.
